The sound of what cannot be seen

to the earth
remain hidden

"Often, I write all day long with white ink on white paper late into the night until it is all I can do to feel the letters curving to earth from the tip of the pen and then, I fall asleep, dreaming of running or maybe driving in a car the color of water. I wake the next day remembering nothing and I gather the stack of paper and a pen of black on the desk in front of me and the words begin to dance over the page like long legged insects across a still lake and the words in white whisper behind and underneath the new day. If there is any secret to this life I live, this is it: the sound of what cannot be seen sings within everything that can and there is nothing more to it than that."

There's not one specific story for these photographs. There are many stories behind each picture here -stories for the people or things who were there, stories for me who witnessed them in real life, and stories for the people who see these pictures and wonder about them. And I think life is like that. Not just one story for each moment but many interweaving tales, some that are clear at the onset and some that are hidden, waiting for us to discover them.

Broken (Photo Challenge 24: Definition)

Broken -in fragments; shattered

on and on the rain will fall
like tears from a star, like tears from a star
on and on the rain will say
how fragile we are

The Blue of the Sea and Sky

as i watch behind the trees
when the blue of the sea and sky meet
"So fine was the morning except for a streak of wind here and there that the sea and sky looked all one fabric, as if sails were stuck high up in the sky, or the clouds had dropped down into the sea." -Virgina Woolf
